Our Story!

On 29th May, we celebrate our 51st birthday! Our business was incorporated on 29th May 1968!

This time last year for our big 50th anniversary, we had lots of celebrations, which included a ‘team karting’ day and a meal for all of our team at a local restaurant. We also had a special cake made by a local lady as well as different flavour cupcakes, which were absolutely delicious! So delicious, we’ve ordered some more to celebrate again this year! We also had a promotional video made and a photo shoot at our showroom! The family had a holiday to Center Parcs in Holland during the half term week too, which was lovely.

The business started originally as a grain storage installer on farms around the country but as farmer grants started to diminish, Graham started to repair a few garage doors for friends and acquaintances. He employed 2 local lads to help and they both still work for us today!

Over the years, our business Kirk Silo (Installations) Ltd, started trading as ‘Mansfield Garage Doors’ and the garage door installations and repairs started to increase. We had 20 years at a small building on Ladybrook Lane in Mansfield before we moved to our current premises on Great Central Road, opposite the Police Station. We’ve been here 10 years now and employ 12 people in total, including the family members.

We base our business ethic on being honest and reliable to the local community and treating each job differently, ensuring our customer has the right product for them. We have many glowing reviews across our social media platform and a lot of our work comes via recommendation from previous customers.

We will freely admit we are not the cheapest company in and around our local area, however, our attention to detail, good workmanship, manufacturer based installation training and honesty, stands us in good stead with our customers. We don’t ‘beat other quotes’ as we give our best price first time. We always encourage potential customers to do their research, read online reviews and visit us at our fantastic showroom to get a feel for what we are about.
