COVID – 19 STATEMENT – 27/03/2020 – Mansfield Garage Doors Ltd
In light of the uncertain and unprecedented situation we find ourselves in currently, Mansfield Garage Doors Ltd would firstly like to thank our fantastic team of engineers who have supported us with our decision to stay open this past week since the PM’s announcement on Monday 23rd March. The guidelines were as follows:
“Work carried out in people’s homes, for example by tradespeople carrying out repairs and maintenance, can continue, provided that the tradesperson is well and has no symptoms. Again, it will be important to ensure that Public Health England guidelines, including maintaining a 2 metre distance from any household occupants, are followed to ensure everyone’s safety.
No work should be carried out in any household which is isolating or where an individual is being shielded, unless it is to remedy a direct risk to the safety of the household, such as emergency plumbing or repairs, and where the tradesperson is willing to do so. In such cases, Public Health England can provide advice to tradespeople and households.
No work should be carried out by a tradesperson who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild.”
We would like to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that we had taken heed of all above government advice and had implemented changes to working practices to help reduce the risk to our employees and all our valued customers.
However, yesterday after much consideration with regard to the health, welfare and safety of our loyal employees and all our very lovely and understanding customers, we have taken the decision to close business temporarily as from 5pm on Friday 27th March, for 3 weeks initially. We have contacted all customers whose doors we have in stock, to explain the circumstances and they have all been extremely understanding of the situation.
Customers who are waiting for their doors to come into stock have also been informed of the situation and have been reassured.
Most of our suppliers and supplies merchants have now temporarily ceased trading, which would have an impact on work we could carry out to the standard we would like.
During the period until Monday 20th April, at least one of our Directors will be manning the office and the phones.
Our trade counter is open in line with the guidance that hardware stores are allowed to continue trading and we ask that customers respect the guidance on social distancing and using card payments if possible.
Our website, emails and Facebook Page will be updated and monitored and customers can contact us via these means. Our main office number is 01623 621999.
Should anybody require brochures sending out, this is something we can do also, whilst we are in this current situation.
In cases of emergency, you can call our mobile which is 07821 117725 and we will do our best to help.
